Do you guys think a field full of beans still standing is a better hunting spot than a cut bean field. They came in with a combine last night at the end of my hunt to harvest. Saw several deer and curious if I'll see them in the same location tonight or if the beans being gone will have an effect on their feeding habits.
Also on another note, What do most of you do when you see a large doe being followed around by one or two fawns? Is it bad conservation to take a doe that has youngens'? Passed up a shot on very large doe last night with two fairly good size fawns that I think are very capable of taking care of themselves. No spots. Any ideas?

Those fawns will be just fine if they are out of their spots. You could take her and it wouldn't be a problem. About the bean field I would say they may still come back for a few nights after it is harvested, but after that they usually leave it alone until later in the season.

The bean field should be good for a couple more days, but after that they will stop visiting the field as much. If the field gets a lot of sun in a couple weeks you might start seeing a really green grass growing. Deer will eat this in late season when food sources are low.
With the doe I typically will not shoot a doe with fawns until later in the year in December. Most fawns have gone on there own path by this time. However, I don't think it would hurt anything to take her now with fawns especially if she is an old horse-head. I just like to keep a lot of does on my property until after the rut so bucks will stay around.

I don't have a problem taking does with fawns. Most does I see are in groups unless a buck is chasing them. If you do take a doe with a fawn, the young one will often hang around the dead deer and give you a clue where it died.

The bean field will continue to be hit by the deer for a while as there are spill piles of shelled beans all around the field.
Don't worry about the fawns. If they are not 2/3's the size of their mother this time of the year they probably won't make it thru the winter with or without their mother.

The cut field should be hit before the uncut field, easier access to the bean....no guarantees
As per the doe with fawns, nothing is more tender than a decent sized doe fawn regardless of what anyone says about shooting bambi.....that is one fine eating deer.
