I went out tonight, i was in the tree and all set up by 5pm. I only waited about 20min before the deer started walking by. Everything seem to be a normal night, i had 4 does walk strait under my stand. shortly after the smallest 6 point i have ever seen walked up about 20 yards away from my stand and made a small rub, about the time he got done doing that the does made there way back to my stand. i decided i would take a doe, i pulled back, was putting my eye to my peep and saw a small basket 8 come bolting out spooking all the deer. but all he was interested in was the does, he was hot for the doe i was about to shoot. He ran around grunting and breathing hard i had never seen this that close to me, i just sat back and watched this for a while until it got to dark to shoot.. one of the best nights bow hunting i have ever had

It is something to watch? I would say the younger bucks are getting excited, and you never know when a shooter will be just a few yards away and join the excitement. thats nice to know i have some ground up that way, saving it for gun.

Wednesday evening, while in my climber observed a small 6 point come out of the creek bottom about 60 yards from me.Shortly there after seen a nice large bodied 8 point come running across the cut bean field toward the 6 point. I thought oh oh,that 6 point is in for it now. As the 8 point approached ready for a fight, the small 6 point stood up half crouched on his hind legs and delivered a blow heard all across the field. The 6 point never stopped, blow after blow, like a mountain goat, finally the big 8 point had enough, turning and running back across the field ,looking back several times. The small six point then continued walking along the creek bank,as if nothing had happened. He is one bad little Buck. I laughed to my self as I sat in the stand ,thinking about what I saw.

Great hearing that you're back in your stand already Hawkeye. Good luck.

Never encountered anything like that as I'm a new hunter but I would just as soon catch that on video than to shoot one of the big dudes as they walk by. Wildlife is a great thing to watch. Humorous at times even. Thanks for sharing!
