Just wandered if anybody knows what the going rate for an acre is? Found some in barthalomew county for 100 an acre. To steep for me, but if anybody is interested pm me and Ill give more info. The one good thing is it is some of the best ground that I know about. Lots of big deer.

PA,
I have a buddy that leases 500+ acres here in Barth for $1500. He gets a dandy off it every year.
I think you live pretty close to me...

"This (whitetail hunting) has become big business in Pike County. Landowners, that were financially challenged are now living comfortably. With current lease rates of $40 to $70 dollars an acre being the norm, a landowner with a five hundred acre farm can bring in an extra $20,000 to $35000 a year, according to the cover and location of their farm. www.imbmonsterbucks.com/info.php?id=76

I paid $10 per acre ...... first time I have leased ground.
The ground wasnt advertised as being for lease so I offered the landowner what I thought was a fair price for both he and I.
$100 per acre is way, way, way to steep IMO.

Hoosier hunter, the ground iIm talking about is off 400 west. South of 58 It can't be huge parcel by any means? I thought most of that was butchered up until you get down closer to 930. I know a few people that hunt that part of 400W close to 500S. They say its hunted pretty hard. I leased 200 acres a few years back on 930 for $5 an acre.

Are you sure that $100.00 is for a hunting lease and not a lease to farm the ground?
