Hi,
I was wondering if there was any advice on troubleshooting my new Henery 30 30 lever action.
I took it to the range today and noticed that when I loaded it the lever popped open? It didn't matter if I loaded 3 or 6 rounds, the lever would open about an inch. The guys at the range agreed that it was unusual. It did fire but there were several times when I would have to man handle it to eject the spent round. I reralize it's new and may need more time being broke in, but I didn't know if this was a common problem or something more serious.
Thank you for any advice on this. I will contact Henery about it but I wanted to see if anyone else had encountered the same thing w/ a lever action and if there was an easy fix for this without returning it to Henry.
Thanks again!

THe only Henry I've fire was the little .22 lever gun. Old Ironsights and Steveb are the resident levergun experts here, so maybe they will know. You might post your question over at Paco Kelly's Levergun forum.

I strongly suggest you send the rifle back.

I've never heard of that one. I'd contact the company for sure. Let us know what you find out.
Henry is a fine American owned company that goes to great pains to make their products out of American materials. I'm betting they help you out, especially since you have a warrenty.
I have a henry .22 that is a blast to shoot.
