Has anyone had any problems with the 55gr black box of ammo in steel case? Will they work OK in a AR-15? Or do you have problems with jamming 2 live rounds when firing them? I dont know it might be a mag problem, it was a used 20 round that was picked up cheap.

Don't know if this is right, but I heard using steel ammo in a sporting rifle is hard on the bolt face. Not sure if this would apply to a AR-15 though. I once tried some Russian made Wolf steel "Junior" cased .22 LR in one of my .22's and the fired case wouldn't eject and I had to use a rod to remove it from the chamber.

I can say that I have never had a problem in my AR, my AK really loves them. Imight take a guess and say the mag spring may be alittle weak try only stacking 5 to 10 and give it a shot.

I think it has to do with the low velocity not cycling things properly. In AKs it has always worked great for me. Try some better ammo in your AR, before you try anything else.

The steel cased 7.62 X 39 m/m ammo works fine in SKS's.

I could be wrong, but IMO the steel case wearing out the gun thing is an old myth, as the steel used to make gun parts is much harder than the steel used to make the casings. I understand that years ago that wolf used a coating on their casings that caused problems after a lot of use. They no longer do. I suspect a lot of the problems (Though certainly not all!) reported are due to people not cleaning their weapons properly. AR type weapons are made to very tight tolerances like most western made weapons and will not tolerate being dirty, no matter what ammo is used. I have never used wolf .223 ammo, but I have used a lot of the 7.2x69. If I have ever had any duds, I can't remember it, nor have I noticed it being really dirty or had any corrosion issues, in spite of my lax cleaning habits with that particular gun. There is a very good article on Wolf on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_Ammunition

Dunno the reason, but I copied this off their web site:
WOLF is the only ammunition company that provides a 100% Performance Guarantee. If you are not fully satisfied, WOLF will refund your money on the unused portion of the ammunition, including and freight charges.

Sasquatch laid out my experience. My AR runs like a top with WOLF until it gets dirty. Also, if the rounds have been outside of an airtight ammo box you can get some corrosion on them if the coating on the outside has been scratched, you have to watch out for that one as well. As stated, the 7.62 runs through my Saiga great no matter what.
Keep your rifle clean and run it wet, and you probably won't have any issues with it. But some rifles just don't like certain brands.

Should also add that Wolf, and other steel cased ammo manufactures, coat their ammo with lacquer. This causes the inside of the chamber to become coated with lacquer thus causing the cases to stick & dirty chambers. The ammo that is "Nickel" plated and is without the lacquer coating would work better in sporting rifles like bolt actions, lever actions, or singleshots.

I never had a problem with them out of an AR or a Mini 14.

I never had a problem with them out of an AR or a Mini 14. The reason being that this steel cased ammo was actually made for semi-autos. Shot it in a bolt action or single shot, it's a different story.

It shoots fine out of my CZ 527 carbine When I owned my Ruger M-77 MKII in 7.62 X 39 m/m; I also fired a few steel cased ammo in it. The first few were okay but after about the forth shot the cases began to stick. I believe the lacquer coating, on the case, was the cause. I did read somewhere that the back thrust, of the cases, when fired, is hard on bolt actions.
