The guy that owns my hunting land shot a squirrel yesterday down by a creek. As he reached down to pick it up, he saw it was laying by the skeleton of a nice eight point. Suprisingly, there was no rodent damage. I'd say the deer had to have been dead since early deer season last year, the skull is so clean. Deer that die after frost usually have a lot more leathery skin left on them, in my experience.

probably one someone stuck in the guts last season and he wondered off and died..one of those crossbow hunters...lol..just kidding..probably a weekend warrior.

How do you know it was not struct by a vehicle or shot by an "expert" hunter. I just hate it when someone labels a hunter as a certian type like "weekend warrior" or brown and downer. My gosh we are all deer hunters I think thats all that really matters.
