With deer season around the corner and on everybody's mind now is a good time to shut down those feeders and begin cleaning up those feeding stations. If you had minerals out, you can begin cleaning up the soil. While your at it you might want to check the property you hunt to make sure nobody else is feeding or baiting. And for those of you who have not looked into your freezer lately now would be a good time to empty it out clean it up and maybe give some of that deer meat away to those who could use it. Last year I remember we had some folks use this site to explain how they were arrested for baiting and how they were innocent and yet they plead guilty. And four year old deer meat in the freezer...well.

They hit it hard. This spot is fairly close (a 100 yards or so) to a stand sight so I did some scraping with my backhoe and then I filled it completely up with fresh dirt. The little parcel looked pretty good so I planted a little food plot stuff- winterwheat, oats and turnips. So I dug up and covered up some edible stuff and planted other stuff that willl be edible in a couple weeks. That got me to wondering, what is the difference? Besides the minerals being against the regulations. Edible now versus edible later.
