Thanks Stevo61

Stevo61, I went to VU in the early 90s and was able to get permission to deer hunt on a couple farms south of town about 10 miles just by knocking on a few doors. Its probably not as easy now but may be worth a try. If not , Minnehaha F & W area near Sullivan is only 30 minutes away and Glendale F&W area near Washington is not too far away. I spent lots of time at both of them fishing and hunting. Good luck, Copper1

I've got good hunting south of town, but I'm kinda full. Let me know what your looking for and we might be able to work something out?

When I Attended VU for two years before transfering to Murray State U.; Vincennes was a great deal smaller back in 1970. Lots of farmland and my Father was good friends with the owner of Simpson's Nursery, who grew Holly & other plants. Today Vincennes has amost doubled in size and a lot of the farmland is built-up. About the closest public area to hunt would be Glendale F&W area near Washington on S.R. 257 South. You might ask around to see if any Landowners in Knox County would let you hunt on their land. <Good Luck>

Good luck finding ground in Knox county. I have lived there all my life. I dont consider it a sportsman county. Too much poaching, tresspassing etc. PM me and let me know what he is looking for, i.e, lease, exchange etc..

I've found the Knox Co. CO to be very effective in slowing down trespassing and poaching in Knox. It's not non-exsistant, but it's not as bad as other places I have.

Well.....I could give you multiple examples where we call the CO and dont get a return call. However, we get chased down on the middle of our own property and get our license checked. The road I dont WALK down in order to minimize spooking deer...no need to shoot myself in the foot anymore you sense where Im going.

In addition to other public ground mentioned above. Pike State Forest and Sugar Ridge F & WA are both within a relatively short drive of VU (approx 35 mi).
Is he looking for a place to hunt bow, gun or both?
