My 10 year old Son got a mature doe at about 8:15 this morning with a 10 yards shot with his muzzleloader. Pictures later. Busy butchering. Got the deer off the bone in the fridge now. About 8 o'clock we started talking about where we would hunt tonight. A few minutes later all of a sudden we see a doe coming down the path right for use. She was right in front in of us and when she got behind a tree I told my son to cock the gun and get ready. She then turned and started down the path we take to this stand about 10 yards to our right. My son had to turn to his right and she started to look at us and I thought it was all over. He ended up getting a great shot but she ran about 40 yards and I thought I saw her fall in the high grass. We waited about 25 minutes and got down and couldn't find any blood anywhere so we went to where we thought we saw her go down. Spent about 10 minutes looking for any sign of a hit and all of sudden just saw hew laying in the tall grass.
