I took my 11 year old daughter out for her first hunt Saturday morning. She had the option to gun or bow hunt. She chose bow (I love her!). Hunt was great. She had a doe at 25 feet, but it was behind some shrubbery. She did not make a bad shot, or even an attempt. I guess all the talks about responsibility of taking another animals life, and the ethics of making a clean and quick kill paid off. We left the woods deerless, but better for the hunt. I think for a first hunt, it was perfect! saw 2 does and a fawn. Had a potential shot a t a doe, but passed. I couldn't be prouder!

Cogratulations to you and her! As my buddy has said through all the years we've hunted together, "you never go wrong with a decision NOT to shoot." Many good days ahead.

She'll remember the time spent with her Dad longer than the doe she passed.

After she told me "dad, I'm shaking!", I explained to her that no drug could ever relpace the feeling that she had just now. That was the reason I dragged my butt out of bed on cold mornings. Just for that experience alone. I think she got the idea.......
