Have you settled in enough to do any NH bowhunting, scouting, etc?

He might be having problems finding a place to hunt. NH is a very small state with limited land available for public hunting.

He did call me yesterday early AM and asked when I was going to come up turkey hunting. Apparently they're thick up around his area. I think he said he counted over 16 the last two mornings when driving to work and has spotted the same big ole tom in about the same spat that's sporting a rope dragging the ground both mornings. Said he hadn't seen a deer yet but one of his coworkers had stuck a doe a couple of days ago. A couple days after we left they had gone to his wife's school for an evening meeting-when they pulled in the back parking lot he said all of the sudden the hillside moved! They finally got to see their first moose!! Dan said it wasn't a huge rack but still decent sized. If you could get on his facebook page he has posted a lot of pics of some very beautiful settings. I'm sure if you PM him and are on facebook he would get you hooked up to his page.
We're heading over there later this week for a couple of days to see the grandbabies and then pointing the ole Dodge south for the rest of 2 weeks of vacation in Beaufort SC.

I've settled in enough to the point of wanting to be in the woods. However, I still have not gotten a NH drivers license. Without that, I can not buy a resident license. I'm not shelling out the $$$ for a non-res license, especially since I'm going to be scrounging the pennies to buy a resident license. I've been working ~50+ hours through the week and usually another 6+ hours one of the weekend days at my boss's house, so time has been limited. No, I haven't dropped the enunciation of the letter "R" from my vocabulary yet, nor have I picked up the use of the word "wicked" either. ;D I'm hoping to get out and chase a bear soon- the coworker that Dad mentioned above has a couple of dogs he's trained to tree bear. A resident bear tag is only $16 after I buy a regular hunting license. And David, NH may be small, but there's over a million acres of available land. It's a private owned/public use state- meaning if the land isn't posted it's free to be hunted. Getting permission from the landowner is still encouraged but not necessary.
