I bailed out of work early Friday & was in the tree by 3:30. No action until 2 does at 6:15. At 6:30 I saw a deer in a thicket about 100 yards off. The deer headed straight for me (I was about 20 yards into the woods from the thicket). However, he was in cover until he showed up at about 25 yards. It's one of those "there's a deer," 1 second later "it's a buck" 2 seconds later "Holy Crap." This buck was coming straight at me & if anyone has seen the show where Tiffany & Lee Lakosky have a deer with a giant rack on one side & on the other is just a giant dagger - this deer was a cousin. On his left side was a beautiful 4 point. His G2 had to be a minimum of 12 inches long. Had the right side scored the same, the deer would've been 130" minimum. However, on his right side he had about an 18" dagger that went straight up & pointed toward the center a little bit. The base of the dagger was probably bigger than my writst. Two years ago, I'd have slung an arrow without hesitation, but I know there are a few monsters in the area & didn't want to blow my wad on the first buck of the year - without it being one of the monsters. It was a very cool encounter none the less. Best of luck to everyone.

What county do you hunt in? I have a trail camera picture of a buck with that exact same description

I have been told an injury to a deer in the prior season will cause problems with rack growth on the opposite side of the body.
