Right at daylight I hear the crunching we all want to hear. It is behind me so I ease up and position myself to watch the deer come within range. It does, I pull back to anchor and my dang peep was twisted so I couldn't see through it... The deer goes behind another tree I let down try twisting the string without taking the arrow off, draw again with the deer at 20 broadside. Didn't help. She was getting close to down wind of me so I let down again took the arrow off, let the peep realign, renocked the arrow and at that point she caught wind and headed out...
Just goes to show you it's the little things that make the difference between a nice morning and meat in the freezer.

Wouldn't have a peep without the rubber tube. +1000 I had one "no twist" setup that was pretty good, but I don't trust any of them. It's happened to the best of us!

Yea but I made up for it 20 min later. Just didn't want to jinx myself before I retieved it if you know what I mean. Got a nice mature doe ready to fill the freezer now...
First deer from my back yard too! Life continues to get better!

Wouldn't have a peep without the rubber tube. My buddies at the archery shop laught at me using my "old school" peep, but mine, unlike theirs, NEVER rotates out of alignment!

I started shooting my bow without one close to 20 years ago and never have tried the rubber band. I was always told that it would fail and pop you in the eye. I guess that is why I never tried it.

Went through the same thing this year before season..Guy at the bow shop says" put this meta peep on there", You'll like it better than that thing"....Never could keep that thing straight, so I ripped it off there and installed a peep clarifier peep with rubber tubing...it works excellent...you gotta have the tubing...

Yep, Cal and I are planning to lay the smack down on some black necked birdies with a wood chicken or two mixed in.

Congrats!
I went to the "no peep" system a few years ago and love not messing with a peep site.

I hate using a peep with a rubber. Seems to make more noise and I had one break and slap me. I use the Surz peep. Lays flat in the string and when you pull it buck it is perfect EVERYTIME!

I tried the Surz-a-peep, but it didn't have a big enough aperature. Due to my nearsightedness, a peep tends to fuzz out a little when you look through it. Every once and a while one of the string fibers would end up in the way, too. I do hear a lot of people like them. I like the G-5 meta peep with a seperate plastic string insert and a short tube tied directly to a cable. Keeping it short pretty much eliminates any noise. For me, the gigantic aperature of the G-5 peep is like having cataracts removed!
