The worst part was I left my bow at home - I could have dealt with her for you.

Magnum & I went out 'yote hunting this weekend. Fri night was a bust but Sat night was very active. They were very responsive to the call and we believe he had a 'yote or 2 on the next hill but the cover is still so thick back there he couldn't see what it was - sure heard a lot of activity though. We were on a field edge and I saw a doe (thinking 1.5year old) heading his way along the edge. A short time later here she comes into the woods not 25 feet away from me, she is snorting and stomping looking his direction - really putting on a show; she carries on for several minutes trots out into the field and then turns around and walks back to the same spot looks his way and starts up again. She then circles 20yds to my right and continues to let him have it - it was hilarious. I bet she messed around over 5 min. telling him off. She was so intent on Magnum she had no idea she was standing right on top of me. I gave serious thought to taking the bow & climber back but I got lazy and decide to just strap on a handgun and run the call for Magnum. It would have been the easiest shot I've ever had on a deer - sorry I cost us 5 pts. guys. The way she was acting I wondered if she had a yearling with her but I never saw one. We also bounced one on the hill right behind the house coming back in after dark - must have been bedded as it made too much noise to have been standing. Fun evening.

We have a sizeable population around here. Last night around 10:30pm I heard a half dozen or so yotes crying and carrying on because they killed something about 150 yards across the road from my house. After deer season it is on!
