There was more than ghosts and gobblins wandering the Hamilton Co. woods this morning. My son and I waited until almost daylight before making the long walk down the edge of the standing cornfield. The wind was blasting out of the west and I was in no hurry to climb into a 20ft oak on the west side of our woods. As I climbed into my stand it didnt take long to get the sensation of riding on a car antenna, I started second guessing my decision after 5 minutes in the stand. 20 minutes into the hunt, out walks a large bodied possible 100' class 8pt and that changed my mind, maybe deer do move in the wind. At 9:30 after a lengthy rattling session I see a large buck coming down a trail in the corn, he looked upset as he tore at the stalks with his rack. He exits the corn into the woods on a trail that takes him almost under me. I held my breath, he never looked up and as he passed me and quartered at 8 yds I ran a muzzy thru his ribs. Smack!! He ran a short semi circle and does a flip. I let out a whoop and 70yds away my 14 yr old lets out a louder whoop as he saw him fall. He has 11 points and guessing I would say will score in the mid 140s or more. He dressed 201, and as soon as I get pictures and figure out how to put them on here I will.

Just dropped my buck off at my taxidermist who is an official measurer for the HRBP. He roughed scored this deer at 159 and some change gross and should net a touch over 150! That officially makes him my largest buck in 20yrs of hunting, pics should be posted soon!

Thanks alot indybrad for posting these for me. Like I said I dropped him off today and won't see him again for months. I will probably sleep with the pictures for a week. My season is all but over and it's just now November, I have all this week off so I guess I might go move some stands for my son.
