First I'm going to have to see him in daylight, he's been hanging around our place all year, I have trail cam pics since May. This is the first time I've seen him since August 9. He was hanging around with another ten point, basic eight with stickers on both G2's, also a nice one. Let me dig up some summer pics.

If you think you can actually pass him when he walks by then maybe. Looking at his body from the summer he sure looks to be 3 1/2. Be hard to pass one that is pushing 160. He really lacks in the mass though. Have fun making that decision when he walks by

Shoot first, measure later. That thing has great tine length. If you don't shoot him, I'm sure your neighbors will.

Unless you're hunting on a 1000 acre ranch here in Indiana and are fairly certain you're the only one hunting him........ you'd be crazy IMO to pass him up hoping to get a shot at him next year!!!! Like Scrub said, "If you don't your neighbors will!"

I agree with indianaboy..not much mass at all....he has everything else, next year he may be a pig...I'd wait.

Take him! It looks like he'll never have super mass.... some deer don't! Look at those tines, though.

I'm not passing on him, I doubt he makes it through gun season around here, he's lucky to have survived this long. What a pig if he had a little more mass, but tall and skinny has it's own attractiveness.

Not many would pass on a deer like that. I wouldn't!
But if I really have to contemplate shooting or passing, I'd pass. True your neighbor might be happy about that when they put the tag on it but if you shoot it, for sure it won't grow any bigger. Not every deer out there gets killed so if you don't think a deer is right for you by all means let it pass.
If you shoot the deer just so your neighbor won't you'll never shoot the one you want. Besides what if you shoot this deer and you see the one you really want and watch it walk to the neighbors where you hear the shot...that would be worse then choosing to pass one and hearing your neighbor shoot it....
