I have got to say.....this has been one of the slowest archery seasons I have had in a very long time. I have hunted every weekend (except one) and many weekday afternoons and evenings...........I have seen two deer while on stand!
I have jumped a few on my way in/out......but while on stand with bow in hand.....two deer!
I am really looking forward to gun season!

What type of gun? My luck I'll see Tree Rats all day. Yeah I getting hyped about Gun Season. my 20 gauge remington 870 with a cantilever barrel and simmons prodiamond scope using buckhammers[there nasty little things leave bigger holes then my dads 12 coppersolids] and with this combo ive killed 7 deer including 2 bucks and not one has ran [dont forget the low number of deer is due to the fact im 14] lol

I'm off Wed/Thur/Friday to try and put one down in archery. I'm with Camby, been on stand every weekend and have seen one deer, and he was smoking past my blind. Very slow.
Opening day of gun tends to bring more deer our way, so yes, I'm looking forward to gun season. The TC Omega is dialed in and ready for a kill.

Yep, it's been pretty slow around here, in the daytime anyway, the trail cams have a different story to tell. If only night vision was legal - jk

Yeah i'm not as stoked about it yet as i normally am. Been hunting with the bow and my deer sightings this year have been horrible. Every corn field in the immediate area is standing and the deer aren't coming out until after dark. Looks like warm temps, chance of rain, and breezy conditions for the opener. Thats what they say as of now anyway. I'm going with the bow on Wed morning, supposed to be down in the 30's, if i don't see some deer then there is a problem. The one good thing is that i got a friend up in Marshall county with over 1000 acres of riverbottoms to hunt and if the weekend don't work out here on my local property i have been invited up there to hunt during the week. Hunted there last year twice around thanksgiving and seen over 80 deer, several bucks and i took a nice doe.

Colts1888 - could be worse... all the beans and corn around one of my woods got picked this past week... then the chisel plow appeared Sunday so all fields around it are now turned over with nice big mud clods... still have another woods with a hayfield next to it, so likely will be in there on Saturday...

The corn in one field to the south of me was out when I drove home last night - that empty field made me smile.

Well i could have used the gun this morning. I finally seen a nice buck at 8 am today. Looked like a 3.5 yr old 9 point, real good deer for the property i hunt. He was just out of range and actually passed about 5 yards to the south of where my brother will be sitting saturday. I called him in with a can call and he came in grunting. I also seen two 6 points today, one was with a doe everywhere she went. And as i was leaving i got even better news, the landowner plans to shell his corn the next few days.
