I used to have a spot that was near houses. I bowhunted there even during firearms, didn't want to get complaints. More houses went in, no more hunting.

No buck tag here, so I thought about my Hoyt for Saturday. Be in the woods all weekend for my son (Renegade82) who has an itchy trigger finger. Been 5 years since I took a deer with a gun so I think this is the year I am taking a gun. I think I will return the favor on my son who usually starts smoking does 10 minutes after light on the opening day of firearms. Maybe this year he can help me recover, gut and drag my slickhead at 8 am of the firearms opener, sort of a lesson to learn from..lol

My son is using a slug gun opening day, his first deer hunt. I thought I would stay close and use my bow. He is all fired up to get a nice big fat doe or a buck so we shall see what happens. Hopefully if a nice doe shows up at my stand I can harvest her without spoiling his chances with the gun.
Check - Bow for me all year - the slug gun has been moved to home defense. Still haven't shot a deer with a gun, but I'm saving that for my golden years if I make it.
