I've shot many deer in the rain...good time to hunt, unless it's a gully washer.I prefer a slow steady rain..great for stalking too..quiets the woods down considerably.

God I hate hunting in the rain, I know deer move in the rain, but personally I've just never had any luck when it rains.

Not done very well in the rain either at least our way it's supposed to be overcast on Sat & just spotty rain on Sun. High's in the 60's aren't so great though. If I'm going to hunt in the rain I'd much rather have a rifle.

I'd much rather have a rifle when it's raining, and when it's not. But that's a whole different deal.
I find that rain just doesn't bother deer at all, unless it is a hard rain. Rain and wind will tend to make them hole up though. I like rainy and windy days (nastier the better) for still-hunting. You can often walk right up on bedded deer.

I grabbed the wifes 1100 and do some stalking, I hate the rain but the season is too short to sit on the couch.

Spotty showers or light drizzle, in cool temps. FINE. Steady or Heavy rain in mild temps. NOT SO GOOD.

Use one of the umbrellas that straap to the tree above you and hunt on. Gortex pants and jacket help as well.

I'll be in a pop-up blind with my son..... so it can rain all day if it wants.

I've got one of those gorilla arm umbrellas. It doesn't do to bad.

rain doesn't bother me much, just haven't much success in it. I can hunt from a blind or throw on the Gore-Tex. I dropped the cash on some Gore-Tex bibs (heavy and lightweight) and a multi-configuration parka in Gore-Tex a couple of years back Great stuff, just a little pricey. We sat all day of last year's opener so it came in handy.

Like most of the others above, if I have to hunt in it I prefer a slow steady rain. Downpours and I usually stay inside. Anything in between, I grab my rainsuit and head pick a spot close to the funnel heading into the pines and cedars on the southside of my place.
