What do you enjoy most about deer hunting? Is it the friendship, the time with your kids or other hunters? Is it the opposite---the solitude? Is it the challenge of taking such a wily critter and all that entails? Is it experiencing nature up close and personal? Or is it something else entirely?

You needed "All of the above" as an option. They all apply for me...but I voted for the challenge. If it was easy, it wouldn't be near as much fun.

I enjoy being outdoors regardless if game is taken or not.....

My favorite part is after ya kill one. All the phone calls ya get, friends coming by the farm to look at it. And of course the victory tour after ya gut it. Usually ends up being several people at the farm. Thats my favorite part.

Some good choices Sas, I chose being up close to wildlife but all of the choices rank right up there together!

i like scouting and finding a hot spot, this is what gets me up at 5 a.m. love it!!!!!! i scouted the first sunday of firearm season, found that spot and i relocated a hang on stand, the anticipation is real high that i will see deer at that spot next saturday morning, even if i don't see any deer, the anticipation that i will have makes it a very enjoyable hunt!!!! . ...TAKE A YOUNGSTER ON YOUR NEXT OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE..... .....turkey scout

All the above! But nothing YET has beat sitting on stand before the birds wake up, crisp air, and bright stars while I sit back and soak it all in...
Now when my kids (3 and 5) begin tagging along, I think I will have a new favorite part of hunting. They already like helping after the hunt and my boy told me he was definately going to have to get a goose gun after I told him I'd buy him and his sister a deer rifle. I can't wait!!!

I love the feeling I get when I have a deer 10-15 yards in front of the stand. I love the adrenaline rush. It seems like I can see and hear so clearly during those moments. Theres not much else like it, except drawing back on one!

My favorite part of deer season is right now. I just finished butchering my deer, cleaning my muzzle loader and placing my duck decoys next to my duck blind. I really enjoy deer hunting but their is a lot of work involved with it. I guess it makes the meat taste that much better.

I chose the solitude since i get so little of it in my daily life, but there really aren't very many things I don't like about hunting.

I chose camaraderie. My boys are 11 and 15 and it's getting hard for me to find the motivation to go if one of them is not with me.

my favorite part of hunting is the research. tracking game trails, setting up and checking cameras, setting up blinds and stands, sighting in rifles... hunting SEASON really isn't hunting to me, it's just killing (hopefully) which justifies all the hunting you did over the summer. the killing season really doesn't even excite me until I've seen a few animals. I'm impatient, jittery and get bored easy so the hunting over the summer really fits me better. it's nice to get away from everything during hunting season and see if all my hard work over the summer was worth it

I like so much about deer hunting, everything from spending time with my son to the yearly tradition of all of us guys getting together at deer camp and sharing memories that will last a life time. But, I think the single most special part of hunting for me is sharing such a special time with the wildlife itself. There is something so cool about sitting in a tree and the animals having no idea you are there, you get to see them do their thing. It's amazing how the woods just explode with life once the light of day starts to crack, the birds start singing and the squirrels are playing catch me. I hunt because I truly love all of these critters and the time I share with them.
