I love hunting with my 10 year old but it can be frustrating at times. He has now missed two does and wasn't able to get a shot off this morning on a deer. All of these deer I could have easily shot but I have been giving him first chance and I am trying to get my parents a deer because my Dad can't hunt this year because of eye surgery and a blood clot he had in his leg a few weeks ago. If anyone near Lafayette is looking for someone to take a deer off their hands let me know. I gave two away this year becuase of the temparature when I got them thinking I would have no problem getting more but I guess hunting with my son is worth it.

I would trade meat in the freezer or any personal gain or accomplishment deer hunting wise to spend time in the field with my kids. There is NOTHING better than spending time with your kids in the deer woods.

And a lot of time we have spent. We went out 6 times over the 4 day weekend. He talked me into goose hunting this morning and he was able to down one. Feel like I am living the dream. Tomorrow is back to reality.
