Simulate a scrape........roundish and under a branch near a good trail. Then in it. Then hang a scrape dripper over it high enough the buck can't reach it and filled with hot doe p. They won't always work but most of the time do. Make sure you don't ruin it with human scent(except for your P)

bucks arnt worried about scrapes in the summer. they are feeding heavy to get ready for the rut. mock scrapes dont really start to work until late oct

along a bucks travel route works but if you can find an active scrape line and you add one of your own it just makes him more apt to check for the intruder more often

Find a current scrape and steal the licking branch, place licking branch above your mock scrape in desired location, including dominate buck urine. Make sure you use scent control (rubber gloves) during entire process. You can do this currrently and if in a great location, deer will visit this scent junction throughout the year.

they arent allways in the woods. you will find most scrapes along edges of fields, bedding areas and anywhere there is an edge of something in their area.
