its like u said" god put them here for a reason"and if we didnt, think how many skinny, sick deer would be walking around in bout id say 3 years do to no land or food..then the crops whould go, and we dont need anymore markup on food..thats the way i see it..but yes..sad but thankful for the MEAT..

I dont feel bad as long as I find the deer and it doesnt go to waste. I have lost deer before and felt bad for killing it. Not saying YOU are but if your killing just to kill you shouldnt be hunting.

[Not saying YOU are but if your killing just to kill you shouldnt be hunting.]
Where did that come from?
No I do not feel bad about killing a deer. God intended them for food. If I should make a bad hit and loose it yes I feel bad. Everyone should then.

I feel some mixed emotion... I am always thankful of the gift that the animal gives me of itself as food for me and my family. I still have a private moment with the animal and a moment of silence. Even now as I have logged 46 deer harvests, and am looking for #47.

Emotion is human. Does the raccoon feel guilty about the ducks eggs? Does the bass feel guilty about the bluegill? To feel is natural and common, to not feel is when you need to worry! Survival instinct does not apply to humans as it applies to the wild creatures we eat.

You don't see people feeling bad about the big mac they just ordered or when they buy a turkey to cook. However I do think it is perfectly natural to feel a bit of remorse for the animal you just killed. That feeling doesn't make hunting wrong.

fell bad? guilty? what in the he!! are you talking about? your on the verg of sounding like some tree hugger
I feel sorry I have to stop hunting for a while to get that deer out of the woods
but then again I'm also a trapper and I have heard many arguments fron ainimal rights folks that play on the heart strings of others by saying "animals have feeling like humans" so i guess they build cars and trucks and houses and have banks and celibrate birthdays and holidays and grow gardens and have Wal-marts and all
I think i will vomit now!

You're only feeling guilt if you do something you know you morally shouldn't do.(or something you should have done but didn't) Is that really what you're going through when you kill a deer?
A couple times the kill has been a sobering experience, but not to the point of getting sad about it. It is a great blessing from God and I'm thankful for the experience as well as the kill.

I don't feel bad at all. I say a prayer as soon as I settle in my stand or blind. I thank God for all of these animals, and the opportunity to hunt them. If I have success and make a kill, I thank Him for that as well.
I have been hunting for 42 years and the emotion of feeling bad has only crossed my mind when I lose one, as was said earlier.

I say a prayer of thanks to whoever is out there and to the animal's spirit. They lived and died to provide us with sport and food. Saying thanks is just a part of it.

There is an element of sadness that I feel when I kill an animal, especially one as beautiful and regal as a whitetail. It is one of a flood of emotions that flood through me on a wave of adrenaline after I make the shot. I am not ashamed of it. I don't feel "guilty", but there is a twinge of empathy and sadness, and I am glad there is. It makes me human.
