I think I am done. It has been a great year. My 10 year old got his first deer during the youth season. He missed two others during the regular season. One after sitting for over 9 hours on opening day. He is a die hard waterfowler so it's time to concentrate on birds now. I get emotional when I start thinking about how great of a year it was. I know these days will not last long. My son's youth deer: First day out during urban season: My buck taken on the 2nd day of gun season. Does taken one morning during muzzleloader.

I think it was a good year too. About on par for deer sightings. I had several hunts that will stick in my mind for many years.
One was the buck I shot still-hunting on opening weekend of firearms. Shot him bedded next to the exact tree I planned to stand next to for a while before continuing to stillhunt further into the piece. If he was not laying right there, I probably would not have seen him, who knows.
Another was yesterday AM, one of the best hunting days all year as far as weather goes, 2-3" of snow, calm, and 25 degrees. Got into a favorite spot before light. At 8 AM I saw the biggest buck of this year, got to watch him for a few minutes. Couple hours later I saw a nice doe with 2 fawns, didn't shoot. I have all the venison I need, so I guess I was just out there to enjoy the woods. Couldn't let the season end without going one last time.
