A farm I hunt in Owen County has a donkey on the next farm over, and every time he sounds off, there is ALWAYS a shock gobble or two. Still trying to figure a way to get that ass to shock hew-haw to get the birds to shock gobble.......

I very seldom use one in the morning I like to let it come natural. Later on though I have great luck with a crow call. I worked a bird in Jackson county who gobbled at every jet that flew over. If you want to have a blast on a slow day, buy yourself a gobble shaker and mess with the guys next door when they blow on their owl hoots!

I also agree , I only use a locator call when the birds won't gobble on their own or while trying to roost a bird .
once season has started I just wait on mother nature to go to work this seems to be the best way
Be very careful when using a gobble shaker
I have killed a few birds using a gobble shaker
my buddy and I walked up on a pair of Toms , he killed his and mine flew away a hour or so later we got the same bird to start gobbling by using a gobble shaker , once he got fired up again I set up and we used the hen calls to close the deal!! We have used it very similar on other occations as well
