“Combo Deer Tag”
How much would you pay for a general firearm “Combo Deer Tag”?
This tag would be for the general firearm season and could be used to take a buck and a doe or two does. If it was used for two does the hunter could not buy another buck tag.

I voted for $24. Agreed on the herd control. Make it cheaper and more will participate.

maybe I am way off base here but I think if this idea were implemented it would increase frivolity some, but a comprehensive yearly tag with possibly a year long buck license and rights to urban zone thrown in for around 100 to 125.00 would be considerably better then increasing exponentially the taking of animals in high deer car collision ratio counties. Too it would increase hunter education enrollment by way of public land hunting for people in tagged out counties and revenue for DNR in a self proliferating money machine from individuals that choose to stay in their respective hunting areas. By and large this would increase their profit and we as hunter fishermen would get a conciliation prize. Everybody wins...

Rights to urban zones isn't something the DNR can just throw in with a tag, because the urban zones are private property. I am also confused as to how this would have any impact on hunter education enrollment for public land hunting. Public or private land, if you fall under the rules for hunter education requirement, then you must go through with it. The DNR is wanting more antlerless deer taken by hunters and I believe a combo firearms tag would really help accomplish this goal. Those hunters who are usually strictly buck hunters may buy the combo tag if the price is right and take a doe that they usually wouldn't take.

whoopsie I posted in the wrong forum. I meant to post in yearly after I signed in, and yes you are correct it wouldn't give you rights to urban as they are private land. I just want to make certain that in a yearly ,I would get privileges without a need to purchase further license. As far as the hunter ed statement. I was merely referring to the notion that some hunters gather a good amount of food, may tag out in their county needing to move to another where they may not have permission to hunt private property. They may entertain hunting on public ground or draw ground. As we all know hunter ed affords you a place in the first pick pile and in some places the only pile is one stacked with hunter ed grads. On the subject at hand I am not certain that I agree with the notion of having a combo license for anything but maybe revenue purposes, it like an earn a buck tag could lead to a pile of deer laying around that are harvested and not used or utilized as intended, Woody can vouch for this while knowing what happened at Prophets town when the lotto winner of the Antler gauntlet allowed deer rot in a wheel barrow over night in a barn for the first night of the two day event. Meat I certainly would've revel led in consuming was left for the obviously greater good a pair of antlers...
