the tea party is nothing but a joke now anyway. it was a great far right wing/libertarian movement thats been completly taken over by the main stream neocons (and worse) that the tea party was against in the first place. sara palin is a tea partier by a long stretch and is some how the de facto "leader" then she endorsed john mc cain for re election, the exact kind of non conservative democrat in disguise piece of trash the tea party was founded against in the first place

John Mccain is not the perfect conservative, but he would be better than any liberal in office now, anyway. The Tea Party is probably merging with some of, the not so hard line conservatives, in order to cleanse this mess we have in Congress and the Presidency today. I hope they understand that they are not going to be to do it without teaming up with a major party. It never has happened before. I wouldn't call the Tea Partiers a joke. We will see in November! Mccain is an honorable man!

i did t say he wasnt honorable, he just isnt a conservative imo he was a horrible choice for the gop nominee for president. plenty of paties have sprung up, the democrats and republicans havent always owned the political landscape, they are just the most recent. i think for the tea party to compromise and let some of these republicans attemt to claim the movemement as their own then they might as well give up. the draw of the tea parties were they were a grass roots uprising against the typical washington class, and now everyone in the typical washington class is scrambling to call themselves a tea party member and no one wants to call them out on it

The best thing, IMO, the Tea Party can do for the near future is NOT put their own candidates in the races. Keep organizing and keep growing .... possibly support certain R candidates in certain races.
Do not "blend" with the R party ..... keep separate.
Putting their own candidates in races this early in their existence will make it easier for democrats to steal elections.

First, lets understand what we're talking about. The Tea Party is NOT a political party party, it's a political movement. They have no candidates to run. Their purpose is to back political candidates (of any party) that hold traditional conservative views and to out the candidates that try to hide their liberal roots.

The Liberals would like to completely split the Republicans and the Conservatives. I would say the tea party will also support some Democrats that are truly Conservative, although I haven't seen one yet. Third party candidates finish last and always have.

I think McCain is a RINO, but I am also unsure about J. D. Hayworth. Something about him just does not sit right with me. BTW - She endorsed an Independant in New York over a Republican. He almost won..
