While out at our property sighting in a gun today, I saw 2 does moving into our woods. The first doe looked good (both had nice red coats), but the second old nanny looked like she was about to explode. Generally, I'd say we're about a month away from their dropping fawns. However, this girl looked like she could easily be carrying triplets - sides bulging and saggy belly. I'm just curious - is anybody else seeing the same thing and/or have any photos?
Love to see them.

While cutting hay we had to wait last week for a doe to haul off the twins that were so amll I would of surely hit them with the tractor but they went into the brush draw and dissapeared in seconds mom ran and stoped to wait for them.

Wow. That's awesome. I've always understood that does dropping fawns this early (180-190 days gestation) means they are plenty healthy!

Domestic dogs running astray killed two fawns last year on our property..Stray dogs are putting a hurting on fawns in West Central Indiana, dogs running the woods every morning, of everyday harrassing wildlife. Why won't the authorities do anything about it?...Not good politics for their re-election bids I guess..

We had dogs on us several times turkey hunting this season in Greene Co. 2 dogs came into my sons set up and actually sniffed his dekes, he said he was afraid to shoot them. We told the landowner and he said we should have blasted them.

Fawn's being dropped in my area Switzerland County, friend called me yesterday that he had a fawn hiding in his shrub's next to his house. Have seen a couple also while cutting hay. Have to pay attention or you'll mow right over' em. Had a near miss last year had to get off tractor and carry fawn to woods edge. Could'nt even stand up yet. Little button buck. Hop'n he will grow up and be a grandpa someday.

Given the opportunity, but hey he'll have to dodge some arrow's and bullet's for next few year's before he'll b on my radar. At least he has a chance now.

It can be really tough to see them until it's too late.

I was spraying an area behind my house trying to re claim some land and up popped a little bitty fawn I dont know who was shocked the most but it could not get its legs under it fast enough and went rolling down the hill almost into the creek. It was cool had to laugh at the little fella for a min ..Its the first fawn I have ever encountered
