can someone please tell me why just because we are under 18 we cant participate in state park reduction hunts.

The hunts are held on weekdays. My guess is that most kids younger than 18 are in school and the parks/DNR do not want the conflict with the Department of Education.

The reason was when these hunts were started the DNR got a lot of flack from a couple different organizations and the DNR didn't want an accident to happen and wanted adult hunters plus as stated the youth would have to skip school to participate. This is what was told to me by a park person. h.h.

They did not have confidence in kids getting the job done.
These are more culls than hunts.
