...........Now, keep in mind that my only agricultural knowledge comes from a brief stint in chicken farming. None of them growed! I think I planted 'em too deep! You probably watered them too much too. Ducks need a lot of water,...chickens? ...not so much.

Is that like a dethatching?
Can I just power seed?
Or is that the same thing?

Dethatching would do it too. Basically anything you can do to expose the seed to soil. If you have access to a slit seeder that would probably be one of the best ways of getting the seed in contact with the soil. Sometimes just the act of freeze/thaw will percolate the grass seed into the soil. Good luck!

If you rent a slit seeder/dethatcher, make sure you get one that is self-propelled!
