"When there is no significant change to the season it is unrealistic to expect changes in harvest numbers," Stewart said."
Geeeeeeeeeee......wonder what he is referring to there? (no offense, just caught my eye)
Then goes on to say the past two years were the first two in history IN shot more does than bucks? Seems to me it aint broke and dont' need fixing.
2cents (and not to restart the discussion but just seems so from his statements)
God Bless

I guess I'm pretty dense. If the current structure produces record harvests why would the DNR want to change that? What's wrong with the current structure? Do we need to harvest less deer or more deer? Why all the wishy washy maybe this maybe that from our state deer biologist? Is our deer herd overpopulated or is it not?
How can he expect anyone to support changes to the deer seasons when he doesn't even know what our deer herd needs? How can you possibly manage something when you don't know what to do to manage it?
I have never seen such wishy washy leadership from our DNR in all my many years hunting in this state. Or maybe it's a lack of clear communication. Something is definitely not right and it is showing with all the discontent over the proposed changes.

Number one hurt the harvest totals and number 2 helped the harvest totals.
