Sounds goofy but Ive seen identical shotguns not like the same mfg of slugs. However, Most my friends with rifled barrels shoot Lightfields but I still shoot the old standard Federal ones since IF I shoot a slug gun, it's a smoothbore.
God Bless

When I was living in Southern Indiana; I used Remington Buckhammers in my Browning Gold 20 gauge. They shot very accurate in my Browning.

I shoot Brenneke 2.75" KO Sabots. They are a 1 oz slug, 63 caliber, at about 1600 fps. They shoot real well from my Marlin 512 Slugmaster.
I may try the Federal Fusion sabot soon, because I can't seem to find the Brennekes around here anymore, and the Federals are a little cheaper (this year at least).

I'm sure you'll get many varied responses but here are my favorites: 1. My Remington 870 pump loves Brenneke K/O Sabot slugs. My Dad introduced me to these over 20 years ago when I was a kid; back then they were this cool new thing from Germany. My son has taken 3 does with them and none went further than 4 yards. A few years ago they came out with the Blue box, Red box, Green box and Black/Blue box but I stay with the standard 1oz. 2 3/4" that is mentioned above. We tried the 3" 1 1/4 oz last year but just about tore my shoulder off sighting in the scope. You can get them on sale right now at Dicks for less than $5 per box. 2. My 20 Gauge Winchester eats Remmington sluggers. Sometimes they will tumble a bit and tear the target paper but they are always on the mark if I do my part. Usually less than $4 a box. 3. My brother likes the Hornady's and Lightfield's but he is cycling a Remmington 1100 and is trigger happy. LOL

Same here, you really need to see what your's shoots well. I haven't had the 870 out after deer since I got into SP's and rifles came in but I still keep a couple of boxes of Buckhammers around.
