I was hunting in Jay county this morning, and I heard 27 shots in 2 hours! Man I hope allthose were misses I saw one doe but she still lives, I was feeling merciful. Good luck all.

I saw 10 this morning. 9 doe and a little 4 point. Decided to pass on all of them. I heard a lot of shots between 7 and 8 but it dropped off a lot after 8.

I can remember hearing 27 shots in the first few minutes of Opening day just a few years back , the woods have been comparatiely quiet the last couple of seasons . I went out just after dawn and counted only about 18 shots by 9 am .

I heard more than that Friday night while bowhunting in Washington Cty.
I think lots of people were doing last minute sight ins. The funny thing is there was less shooting tonight with all that wind.

I counted 53 shots by 8:30 yesterday morning, which was an all time low in the 10 or so years I have been counting. The shot count is usually in the high 120s or low 130s.

One of them might of been mine, and it wasn't a miss ;D.I thought it was pretty quiet compared to most years. It usually sounds like a war zone around here the first couple of hours .

I hunted Morgan/Monroe Sat morning and counted the 100th shot at 8:20am! Last year when I killed my 8 pointer on opening morning I was the 207th shot of the morning.... at 9:25!

This evening I had the somewhat less than rare privilege of listening to a guy down the street pump out at least a dozen rounds over a span of less than 5 minutes , I'm still wondering what he was shooting at . Hopefully it wasn't that 8 point buck that got my heart racing just minutes before , I couldn't get him to hold still long enough to get off a shot and he ran off to the neighboring property .

We counted over 200 shots around Metamora on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, none of them came out of my shotgun. The only two shots I had a chance at were two spikes. I did see one shooter 8 pointer but he didn't present me with a shot. All day I saw 9 deer, 5 of them bucks, one shooter.

I didn't hear too many either but I am pleased to hear that we have some folks showing some patience out there. I was lucky and shot an 8 pointer at about 7:45 I let about 6 or 7 does go by and one 4 pointer the only thing I'm not happy about is it's over unless someone asks if I would shoot them a deer. I only have my wife and I to feed and one deer is enough for us I wouldn't mind to shoot a doe but I just don't need the meat.

YEEE HAAAA!!!! It was a record low for opening day shots around me. Yep, I only heard 10 shots before legal shooting hours this year. Not only that, the "hunters" must be learning to shoot their guns too... Yep, Only took them 3 shots instead of the customary 5 that they normally shoot.

It always makes me cringe to hear someone empty their shotgun in a woods full of hunters!

I was hunting in Laport Co and the gail force winds all weekend from Saturday morning to Sunday night kept us from hearing much of anything. Heard a few shots but not many. Took 2 shots and got 2 does within 5 min. Sunday evening with my inline. Couple nice does to boot.

Good shooting, duff, congrats!
It was like the 4th of July around Tell City, but I didn't hear any early shots. Also, Sunday was much less than Saturday, prolly due to the rain and pressure from the previous day.
