It would depend on the size of the man in the pic. At around five feet long and 80 lbs, a male would be pretty good sized. A lot of the length appears to be the hind legs stretched out, as the dude has the wolf hoisted up pretty good. Some of the bulk would be fur. It certainly appears within the realm of possibility, again depending upon the size of the man.

I am pretty sure I saw the same man with the same background holding a different wolf (smaller) on another site, the story said it also weighed 80lbs. My lab weighs 80 lbs and she is no where near that long or that big around. In my opinion..........photo shopped.

Nope, they CAN be that big. I've seen several in Alaska as big. Being protected for a long while would allow them to be as big. There is one mounted in the lobby of the Fairbanks Airport that is at least 10' nose to butt not counting the tail. They can be huge, a lot more than 80 lbs.

they can be HUGE.
I knew a guy up north in minnesota that had one mounted years and years ago. It was in a glass case right inside his front door. HUGE! His last name was shutte (or something real close tro that) he had a bear "sanctuary. fed the bears, had several regular visitors. when he died, the state turned it into a sanctuary, tourist stop. Its been on tv. Dont know if the mounted wolf is still there or not

They get huge, Idaho has only 114 down so far since the season opened in August i wanna say? And yes, that's a decent sized one, its a canadian wolf not your typical timber wolf.

A cousin of mine used to have a pair of those 97% wolf dogs, both were well over 100 lbs, but they weren't much over a year old. A mature Timber Wolf can tip the scales at up to 150.

The wolves they stocked were one the caught in alberta, and like deer the farther north you go the bigger they get. They finally opened a season this year for them. you buy 2 hunting and 3 trapping tags. You can use the 2 hunting towards your trapping quota.
