I field dressed a buck today. I noticed one of his lungs had black spots all over.. I wish I'd had my phone on me to take pics. Is this normal? I've never noticed this on any prior deer I've dressed.. Not dark black but quite a bit of black or grayish freckles..

Anytime you notice an oddity like that it doesn't hurt to contact a CO and let them have a look or at least bring the oddity in to the check station and let them take a look and decide if it is worth calling a CO.

It was on the outside of the lung. I double lunged him with my bow. One lung was a bloody mess and the other was intact with black freckles all over it. Hope it was just clots because I've been eating that deer almost every other night for about two weeks now. One of the best tasting deer I've ever had!!
