I had this critter come by me yesterday evening in Illinois. I’m guessing it is a weasel. Real dark colored though. Best pictures I could get with te IPhone...

Wow! That could have been the start of Momma's mink coat.. Muight have looked funny with a NAP Spitfire sized hole in it..

definitely a mink. Weasels are light brown and a lot smaller
