I'm up to 35, only one close to say it was on my neighbors property. Friendship is only a few miles east as the crow flys so I am sure they will take a few off of the home of the NMLRA!

Buck on the ground 735am whoop whoop. 8 point, no weight yet buy I am guessing 160ish. field dressed it took me and the boy to load(with effort) Mossberg 500 12. Wanted to use my contender but was to nervous to hold steady. Daughter took my Handi Maxi so I decided to carry the Mossy. Photo coming Lonn

Ironically, I have only heard a few shots this morning, count at less than 40. It was almost peaceful. My Brother-in-law shot this 8 pointer. He did jump the fence on the side with the neighbor who we thought we'd have trouble with, that neighbor actually helped us get him over the fence! The kids are having a great time! Hope this continues. This buck weighed 250# before being field dressed. Attachments:

My boy has not shot a deer in 4 years. His stand has had a curse, so this morning he hunted mine and I his. He had 3 does and a buck bed in front of him. While he was waiting for a little more light, some idiot(dont have permission) pulled in the lot and parked 85 yards from the stand. Deer left. Boy texted me and said watch, the deer are heading my way. 15 min later he was standing in the edge of the woods, about 65 yards. I lifted my TC Contender super 14 357 Max, way to shaky. Eased it to my chair, picked up my Mossberg 500. Hit him to far back. He came at me then turned slug thru the ribs and he dropped. My boy was irritated, but happy we brought one home. On the way to the house, we stopped and try to talk his big brother in the truck. He was running at the road untill we got to him. Then he turned an ran :] Lonny

First shot I heard was at 6:55 am. Thought to myself, here we go! All in all I heard 5 shots other than my 2. The deer were running up north of Crawfordsville this morning. A 4 pt. ran by me chasing a doe, and several walked up the north edge of the woods I was in, out of range/too thick to get a shot. This deer and several others snuck by behind me into a thicket out in the field. I caught them going in and after several minutes a doe and this buck came out. This buck walked straight towards me and then angled off to the right. Perfect broadside shot. He went down with the first shot, but managed to get back up and stumbled back into the woods. I wasn't going to chase/track him so when he stopped I put another in him. He was down permanently that time. After I got down and saw the blood trail, the second shot was not necessary. Perfect way to christen the Ruger 77/44. The wife helped me dress him out, and drag him to the Jeep. The deer were running in the woods while we were doing all that. PS, sorry for the tongue hanging out, tacky I know but I didn't have my glasses on, and didn't notice it in my cell phone's screen when I snapped the picture.
