If I am not mistaken you make/complete a transportation tag with name, date, time, sex of deer and address of location/kill, the check in station will keep this and issue a metal tag.

The Pine Village check station didn't even want the transportation tag...in fact didn't even look at it!

The check-in by me doesn't even look at the temp tag or keep it. They just look at my LTL and get the rest of the info from me.

I was just curious if a landowner who takes the deer has to provide anything to prove that he is a landowner. Do the check ins just take your word for it that you are the legit owner, or do you get a visit by the CO at a later date. A guy I work with was asking me, and I said all I knew about was the transportation tag!

Been checking in on landowner tags for over a decade now and never been checked- but the ground has been in the family since homesteaded so a CO wouldn't have to ask many questions.

I have owned mine for 10 years and have never been asked to show proof of ownership.

What about children living with their parents? My parents have 87 acres. Could I have hunted using a landowner permit, knowing that neither of my parents hunt?
