Buddy and me were out hunting geese, and as we we're sitting waiting on a flock out of no where four does shot out in a dead run right behind them was a big buck chasing them, they crossed the road five minutes later heard a shot so i think he ain't coming back. any thoughts as to if this is an indication of a second rut.

Lets stay on topic.
The topic is "is the chase back on?"

Saw a small buck pushing some does last night I don't think they wanted any thing to do with him but there should be some does that did not get serviced coming back in soon if not already

dang, wish he would have ran my way down there LOL
How big a buck Michael ? I hear there is a monster big buck down your way on the block. I haven't seen much all year, a decent 9 pointer
Seen not one chase this year but I think I messed up my hunt dates this year too

All the doe fawns are going in heat rut now. That why, and also any does that were missed. Very few does, and alot of bucks.

I saw the same activity both evenings last weekend. A buddy of mine was with me filming me trying to get my first deer on camera since I was relegated to a wheelchair. Saturday night we had a beautiful 130" class 8 pointer cross a food plot at 170 yards hot on the trail of 4 does that had just came through. Sunday night we had a 7 pointer (broken brow tine probably would have been around 120") push 2 does hard down a hill across a creek out into the food plot. He had his nose to the ground, tongue hanging out,… We thought they were going to go ahead and cross the food plot until the yearling darted right towards our hunting blind. I had him broadside at 35 yards. I kept telling my cameraman to cock the hammer. He was running the camera and ranging the deer. When I finally got his attention. He got the hammer cocked and I had about 1/2 to 1 second to shoot. When we got back to my house. We watched it and you can hear the hammer cock and we confirmed that I did have about 1 second. It takes a lot of work to get me out there and everything that goes along with it. He was devastated that I did not get him because it was like they read the script perfectly. I was happy with the encounter and now know that I can get it done. My season has done because it is too muddy for me to go this weekend. But, I ran onto a used youth muzzleloader and my son will be out this weekend in front of the camera trying to get it done.

My brother took my son out this morning, but he had another obligation, so they had to quit early. They saw a buck chasing a doe hard.

Wife watched a good shooter buck chasing a doe in our front yard / field this week. She got some pics.
I told her she should have gotten the Muzzle-loader that was in the garage and taken care of business...
