I'm going out tonight, i am new to turkey hunting, which way should i face my decoy? And in the evening is it better to set up along a field in in the woods? What calls and how often ?thanks

If you're in Indiana you better be a youth, because the adult season doesn't start until Wednesday.

Well good luck then. I'd try setting up your decoys facing the opposite direction of where you think the birds will come out. I would say a field edge is a good bet as you try to catch them going in to roost. As for the calling, I'm still learning that part as well, so I don't have any good advice for you there.

Slate call. Clucks and purrs. If you are new you will probably want to call way to much. Never had an instance where I over clucked to a bird. Yelps and cackles. That's a whole nother story. Call to the bird and read him to see what he wants and likes.
