How bad did EHD hit the deer herd west of Terre Haute, between IL state line and the Wabash?

Any deer that may have died from EHD might have gotten killed during the deer season had it not died pre-hunt. So, it's a moot point asking about the effects now.

Some people worry too much about EHD and other people.

Timex, I am glad you know it ALL. I am new to this forum and find your ignorance and arrogance a JOKE. I am also new to the Terre Haute area. I have not scouted the farm I have permission to hunt late season. If the immediate area has been hit hard with EHD, then I will pass buying a tag and wait til next year and see how the numbers look then. In areas I hunted this year in MICH, there are pockets of 60-80% mortality.
This is my last POST here good luck!!!

You are asking a question that has no answer. What happened EHD wise in the county may not have any effect on the farm that you are hunting. EHD can decimate a herd in one area and a mile down the road it would have no effect at all. It is that spotty. If Vigo county had XX amount of deer reported with EHD that could all come from just one area..and maybe or maybe not the area the farm is located in.
Unless you can talk to someone at the farm itself anything that you get from here is meaningless.
I do not recall Vigo county on the EHD list this year, but that doesn't mean it totally escaped any EHD. That area was hit hard back in 2006 (I think) and everything I have heard it has recovered very nicely.
If I was in your shoes I'd pay the price and take the chance as Vigo county produces a good amount of deer and some whoppers.
Your choice that no one on here can make for you..

Sorry I p...ed you off. Woody is correct, no way to know about a local hit of EHD without walking the property. The dead ones will be near water 99% of the time. Any deaths from EHD would have been pre-hunt and before the first frost, so if your looking for a late season hunt, just scout the area for deer sign and go from there. Being that Indiana was hit hard with EHD a few years ago, those areas have quiet a bit of immunity built in now and future outbreaks will be less severe in those places.
