Well, there isn't anything set in stone yet, but it is looking good. I should know more in the next couple weeks. I do not have a topo of it yet, but I will include it when I get it. So here is the deal, I know some of you have hunted for many many years and can probably look at a map and tell what looks good for deer hunting. I cannot do that yet. And since I don't have access to the property yet, I am looking to try and do a map scout. So if some of you wizards of the map wouldn't mind looking at this picture and give your thoughts on where you might think bedding spots and other points of interest are, I would greatly appreciate it. I realize not much beats actually being in the field and I am planning on going out, but it is just not possible to do so. On another note, the owner has not given permission to anyone to hunt there, but he said many people take it upon themselves to enjoy his land. Thanks Mike

Looks like a power line easement cutting through the property? If so, that would be a likely bedding area. Definitely need a topo map or boots on the ground to figure out the terrain better. Any food sources like AG fields near by? Water sources will be important if this dry spell continues into archery season.

Thanks for the info. Here is the best that I can do so far for the topo. It appears there is a field to the north of the property, but I won't know what is planted until I head that way. The owners father had told me there are trespassers on that property all the time. I guess someone had cut down a bunch of trees in the past to give their pot some sunlight. So this should be an interesting property. Thanks again. All the help you can give is appreciated. Mike

Haha. I think it would be pretty easy to shoot a high deer. ;-)

Michael, If'n I was you I'd be packing every time I set foot on the property. I started the process today. I guess it is like 4 to 6 months to get it. That is a bit long to wait. Oh well. Mike

A co worker got his in 8 weeks and that was during the process of adding more personnel so I think it might go faster now.

Just a quick update on the LTCH. I got my permit in 6 days! That's right, 6 days. I live in Marion county.
I work for the government, so I wonder if my security level helped speed the process up. I am not sure, but it did pop into my head.

While hunting, an individual may carry a handgun without a handgun license in accordance with Indiana Code 35-47-2-1 at IN.gov/legislative.
