I have noticed over the last couple days that HomeLand Security seems to be a bit out of control. I understand they have a very important job and it should be taken very serious, but stopping a bunch of guys walking on a street and telling them to walk on the sidewalk, seems a bit excessive. Yes, we were on government property. I thought he was joking so I was smirking and laughing most of the time, but no, this dude was serious. Once I realized it, the smirk was gone.
We are grown men, we can walk where we want! He said the sidewalks are there for a reason and that he has to slow down cause he didn't want to hit us. Ok buddy! We saw him coming, so we moved to the grass. He didn't have to slow down, he wasn't going to hit us.
Rant over! I don't know if this guy just wanted to be a pain or if he had a superior tell him to enforce it. Either way, his tone was unjustified and therefor it is what has cause me to write this post.

Look up Homeland's Security number, or send them an email. Let them know this guy was unprofessional and out of line. If you don't report it, this behavior will continue and so will this guy's holier than though attitude.
I work at the government center downtown. There is a policy against smoking on the campus, and state workers can supposedly be fired for smoking on campus; however, Capitol Police can't enforce it and cite anyone because it isn't a law. They don't even try to bluff anyone any longer because they have there bluff called before.
