Field report dated 12-28-13
There still seems to be small pockets of resistance in and around my area.
These few are hold up in remote and obscure drainage ditches or on a few open water ponds.
These resistance groups consist of members of the Mallards and a few of the Gadwalls. Larger lakes are frozen over only the rivers,streams and a few select ponds remain open,a few divers have been spotted as well as members of the Swan gangs.
Most Canada geese have pushed on south weeks ago except for those that have maintained a few open water strongholds in areas where combat is forbidden.
I will attempt to maintain my position till the very end ( Sunday 12-29-13 at 1622 hours )when yet another cease fire will take effect however this will only apply to the smaller species and not the larger ones.
Combat is expected to continue until February when peace talks with the Canadians is anticipated.
At the beginning of this uprising combat was very slow with only a few casualties this was prior to the pre-holiday cease fire, however my position has experience a steady but slow combat during this the remaining days of what has been a long and tiring months of battle.
To all of you who read this report Stay the course and continue the battle till the bitter end.

Good luck filling the strap tomorrow. Been decent in my area the last week. I live right on the north/ central split, so i have some bonus days to shoot ducks.

Man feather go grab your auger and head to fish lake. Geese are roosting on the ice. Driiled holes in 6 inches of ice right on top of the green cheetoes and foot prints.

Well as of 4:22PM yesterday the great fathers in Indianapolis have declared the northern third of Indiana as a peace time zone ......once again, however I am sure this treaty will only last till next fall.
This peace treaty is only with the ducks as we are still at war with the Canadas.
There was a very nice push of birds Saturday and Sunday ahead of the cold front that is now upon us.
Ended the season yesterday with a limit of Mallards in as many shots and I observed more ducks in those two days than I have in the last few years.
There are still large numbers of geese staying in non-hunting areas, these birds will probably stay here unless we get deep snow.
To those of you still carrying on in the southern parts of this state you should see a few more ducks headed your way.
I would rate this season as a C- at best.

Greatly improved from last season and this early season. It looked pretty barren to me waterfowl wise, I'd say you have a good spot if you were able to give a c-!

I am pretty familiar with his hunting grounds up there and they ain't like they used to be. The grading curve was set years ago and it continues to slide to the worse up there for some reason. The ducks I don't know why but geese I think the Feb season is doing the job of reduction. Got to hunt hard to squeak out a c- season up there.
You prove it that hunting hard will put you on some birds

Today there was a small battle fought in the central war zone. There was some casualties of the smaller fighters. But straight west of our position the Northern gorilla warriors had a strong hold on a hill. But after some talk. We have been given permission to engage battle in the a.m. So our troops will engage them in full force in front of this weather. Field report from the very southern end of Central zone.

Wow. That's all I can say. This morning was unbelievable. We "took the hill". There were hundreds of Canadian geese. Also unbelievable ducks that we shot over open water just at day brake. Our limits were mixed bags of Mallards, Redheads, Gadwalls, Bluebill, and Ringnecks. Was wet soaked and limited by 1100. Only geese left in Central Zone in 2 weeks. But I can move a few miles south from here and still have time in south zone.

Field report for 1/11/14. A battle was fought in the southern zone. It didn't go without a lot of work. Busted ice for close to a half mile to get to open water. But after much work. Ended up with 5 of the smaller fighters. Several of the Northern Troops were seen but no engagements today.

This warm spell sent several of the bigger boys back up here looking for open water.

I'm from south east of Terra Haute. Really straight south of Brazil. We had 3 man limits this morning. Will try to post pictures if I'm smart enough. Lol
