Question?
Why is it i hardly ever see anyone hunting with a martin compound bow on you tube or hear very much about them? Is it because Martin do not promote them as much as other brands do, or is it because they are not conceived as being as good as other brands, or are they just not in fashion at the moment? i am just curious. We can get them over here in good old England, lol regards Billy

I used a 2002 Cougar and then a 2008 MOAB until I went traditional. My daughter shoots a Mystic with the shoot through system.

They will shoot as good or better than any Mathews or hoyt etc. They just don't cover every magazine with advertising. They don't need to.

Ted Nugent uses Martins. At least he did last time I watched him.

I do use a martin tr 1 and get on well with it although i do not hunt here in the uk, which brings me onto a lesson i have learned today.
As i want to have a go at a turkey bow hunt i got inquisitive about broadheads so i bought three cheapo's from ebay uk. I also bought three maugnus stinger 4 blades from Braveheart archery in the usa who i will deal with again they are honest postage wise and brilliant service. Today i thought i would have a daft go with them, so i fired two field points at thirty yards into the bull and then a cheapo broadhead, mercy me it went a mile to the left and just hit the target backstop, i thought Billy you are in trouble here.
I came into twenty yards just the same two bulls one way left, i came in to get advice from you chaps, then before i did i thought i will try a magnus stinger, so i went back outside
Same test again two field points into the target then with heart in mouth i fired the stinger , lo and behold bingo right in with the field points. tried it again same result.
Todays lesson, Do not buy broadheads from ebay, even just to try, next job is to order two packs of stingers from braveheart archery over the pond and put them away in stock until i get the opportunity to come over and annoy your turkeys, lol regards to all Billy

Absolutely nothing wrong with Martin bows. They just don't do the advertising and pay "pro shooters" like some of the other companies do.
My best shooting on a 3D course was with a little Martin Bobcat.
Billy,
On broadheads, like anything else, you usually get what you pay for.
Good luck and keep us up to date

Ted Nugent uses Martins. At least he did last time I watched him. Uncle Ted is a Matthews man now. My Martin Silencer Pro shoots great! Shot quartering away at about 13 yards or so from 21' up. Entrance was high in the right lung and heart had blade cuts in it. Exit was through the offside front leg.

My first bow was a Martin Cougar Magnum, used for $30 from my dad's friend. Probably 20 years old when I got it, used it for several seasons before upgrading.

The question is does the martin family still have anything to do with the company or has it been bought out and just using the martin brand name, and are the bows still being made in walla walla? i am curious to know. Never heard of Chris Bracket i will google him, is he a well respected archer over the pond? regards Billy

It was bought out, but still made in Walla Walla. New CEO. Look to be good people wanting to bring the Martin name back to the forefront. I've never shot a Martin myself, but I would love to.
FYI Uncle Ted no longer shoots Magnus anymore either. He shoots Muzzys who is now owned by the same conglomerate that owns Rage and several other brands.

Thank you varmint101. Looks like uncle Ted is a bit like one of my friends who said the only landrover to buy is a green one that's there proper colour, UNTIL he got offered a cheap one in silver grey and bought it, lol He is never allowed to forget it either, hehehe.

I shot a martin bengal for years and loved it. For the price, it was an incredible shooter
I switched to a mathews then a bowtech and found the bowtech did have better technology and was more accurate to shoot. I think there technology is a few years behind bowtech and mathews. Not bashing them they are great shooters and helped fill my freezer for several seasons.
