Mossberg is on the move too...They haven't completely moved but the handwriting is on the wall. Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts are going to regret their anti-gun stance as more and more companies historically located in the northeast up stakes and move out. By the way, the "Maverick" line, Mossberg's low-dollar version of the 500, was previously made in Mexico, so it would appear that Mossberg's decision is also bring jobs back across the border.
The press release ....
O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., has announced the completion of a 116,000-square-foot expansion at its Maverick Arms, Inc. facility in Eagle Pass, Texas. Mossberg’s corporate headquarters and some manufacturing remain in North Haven, Conn., where the company has been located since 1919.
A statement from Texas Governor Rick Perry’s office recognized the efforts of the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) and the state’s low taxes, smart regulations, fair courts and skilled workforce as keys to Mossberg’s decision to invest in Texas. “This TEF investment in Maverick Arms will help create jobs and opportunity in Eagle Pass, while reaffirming Texas’ longstanding support of the Second Amendment,” said Gov. Perry.
Mossberg CEO Iver Mossberg said that investing in Texas was an easy decision. "It’s a state that is not only committed to economic growth but also honors and respects the Second Amendment and the firearm freedoms it guarantees for our customers,” he said. “A significant amount of our manufacturing has been based in our Eagle Pass facility since 1989. This new expansion will allow us to take full advantage of the outstanding work ethic of our long-time employees and help us meet an ever-growing demand for Mossberg rifles and shotguns. We thank Governor Perry and TEF for their efforts which made this expansion possible.”
Maverick Arms, Inc. houses production, assembly and distribution of shotguns and rifles for the Mossberg, Maverick and Mossberg International brands in the Eagle Pass facility with over 90 percent of the company’s total production based there. The recent expansion, which includes a $3.4 million capital investment, will consolidate more of the company’s manufacturing in Texas and will create 50 new jobs.

Unfortunately it will be symbolic at best in the grand scheme of things ..... Im happy they are all doing it but I doubt it will make much difference at the polls.

So you don't think Jobs lost in Maryland will make a difference at the poll's...? That's interesting..cause where I come from if a politician cost people their jobs because of their stupid policies, laws, action etc....it normally has a negative effect at the polls.

I don't think it'll be enough to turn a blue state red... no.

I don't think it'll be enough to turn a blue state red... no. Might make a blue county a red county, or two blue counties red...that effects the polls.

Also has a ripple effect..tax revenue that is lost, jobs lost, local business suffers, that effects the economy in those areas where the Beretta factory was located. Happening all over this Country right now. People take notice.
Not hardly just " symbolic"...much more than that. especially if it were your job eliminated.

Looks like the governor is in a race with the Republican challenger....if that man wins and repeals the law I'll agree you are right.

Not hardly just " symbolic"...much more than that. especially if it were your job eliminated. That's the problem. For the most part, people don't care that others lose their job. They only care when it happens to them.

After looking at the Maryland race I dont think I will have to admit that I was wrong .... they have had one Republican Governor in the last 48 years.
The current Governor is term limited and will not be running but the Democrat is about 15 points up on the Republican at this time.
Its a blue state and their representatives did what they were sent there to do .....

They elect politicians who want gun control and then put gun control in place .... o'malley was elected by a margin of 15 points.
