Well, we got hammered again last night with 2 1/2" in about 45 mins. That's over 8" of rain, since thurs. eve, and somewhere between 9 1/2-10" for the month. I sweeping seepage on the base of my north basement wall. Definately gonna be a few days before any more limb chicken hunting.

Got one Squirrel Saturday morning for Team #7. Question: How does one post a photo?? I tried the other day but was unsuccessful. When I tried to place it on my post a message popped-up and and said it was too large?? But it wasn't nearly as large as most here. I am puzzled? Set up a photobucket account and load pics onto it. Go to the pic you want to post and click on the right where it says IMG. It will copy it for you when you do this. Then come to this thread and when you start a reply push Ctrl+V and it will paste what you need for your pic. I always enter down a couple times and then write what I want. You can click preview on your reply to make sure everything turned out the way you want.

4 more Saturday morning for Team 6. The hot morning and having to leave the woods at 9 left me one short of a limit, but still a decent morning. Unfortunately one had mange pretty bad so I didn't get to clean it. Squirrel with mange, not the greatest picture but the tail was missing hair about 1/3 the way up and there was almost no hair on the belly. Other 3 Scott

I recalled that I did use this Add Attachment feature, at one time and had no issues with photo size being too large. Maybe I should try the insert image feature and see if this works. I just like to show that I am actually harvesting Squirrels, like others here.

ProBoards has where you can do "attachments" up to so many. After that I have to pay to get more allowance. Sort of like the data plans on some cell plans. Go over a certain point - you pay more. I can assure you all that this is not a money making site for me. I do not receive a dime from any of the links at the bottom of the main page. So I need to keep my costs as low as possible so any pictures posted need to go through a picture hosting site.... Sorry....

I would not normally post such a sorry looking pic...except for the story behind this one! So score 1 more for Team 2. That is if Woody considers it worthy of being counted. Reason being, I shot this gray squirrel point blank with my Savage model 93, .17hmr topped with a Redfield 3-9x40! That .17hmr is just flat out wicked. Blew the side right out of the squirrel! Just after the shot, I saw an owl take to the wing and land in a tree just above the squirrel. Apparently he was on the hunt and wanted some dumplings too! I had my phone right at my side and was barely able to get this pic just seconds before the owl swooped down, snatched up my squirrel and was gone. I knew I wouldn't have time to switch to video so I snapped some quick pics hoping to get one of the owl in flight. Unfortunately, all those pics were just a green blur! Very cool scene, though!

highcottonguide, I've never used or even own a .17 HMR. [But], Some of the Squirrels I harvest have excessive damage even from my .22 CCI Mini-Mag HP, unless they are "head shot". The very best cartridge/load I've used on Squirrels, when I lived in Indiana, was my .22 Hornet loaded light using: 7.0 grs/ SR-4759/ 50 gr High Velocity bullet, all loaded in a Remington brand Hornet case. The damage is a lot less than what you get from using a .22 LRHP, as the harder 50 gr. jacketed bullet just "sails" through the Squirrels, with little damage, and velocity is around 1,500 FPS. However we can't use centerfire rifle or pistol ammo on Squirrels here in Kentucky, for some unknown reason.

Heck yeah it counts - you got it a pic so dooo eett!!! Now jdub1 shot one, it feel 4-5' down the tree, ran a couple of feet on a limb and stopped; we're sure it died up there but it's thick enough when we walked up on the tree and tried to see it, no luck; so that one doesn't count. (btw you should see what a 17Fireball does to one!)

Slow morning as they weren't moving much at all in my woods. Seen two and heard another. Fast moving storm was coming in, so I bailed. Oh yeah, add one more to team 1 LCB

YEP, that is something I've yet to find an answer. You can use ANY centerfire cartridge for Deer, but I'd never use my .22 Hornet on Deer sized game. I remember when I attended Murray State U.; I went on my very first Deer Hunt (5-day season), back in 1973, and the smallest caliber you could use was the .243 Win.

Ran finally pulled out and I got all my hot peppers processed so I decided to take a walk through the pines and see if anything is cutting. Nothing. While I was back there I walked the cornfield edge on the east side and had 4 squirrels barking. Dropped one and still had two barking. Could not pin them down for the life of me as thick as it is. Wasn't sure about finding the one I shot even though I knew where he dropped out at. Found where the one was barking from. 6 feet up a sassafras tree was an ear of corn and a lot of past feasts laying below. Looks like a walk after work each day is in the plans. Going to be a lot of one squirrel outings if this keeps up. At least it was a clean shot. Add another to team 1 LCB
