Well I finally got a deer yesterday. Went out yesterday morning and saw nothing and then went out again last night. I thought I was going to get skunked again but then right at last light three doe stepped out. Shot one with my muzzle loader. I think I'll go out tonight to try and fill my buck tag but I'm done after that.

Saw a buck chasing a doe and 4 more does this morning. Coyotes were running everywhere. Wife saw one out the back window and I had several running a field edge this morning. Of course, zillions of squirrels. Good morning to be out.

Buddy went to the farm this morning and sat in the same stand that I killed my buck from..... saw 13 deer total. 10 does and 3 bucks.
Had a 150ish 10 pointer at 75 yards.....drops the hammer on an empty primer pocket. He forgot to put one on the gun.
At least he can laugh about it......

I went out this morning to the back blind to drop some of the dead trees leaning towards the field that we noticed during season. After dropping 12 of the 25 or so that need to come down I came back to the truck to settle on a game plan with my brother. Right after I shut the saw off a doe came out of the grass point, crossed the top filed, down the ridge, then crossed the bottom field within 80 yards and into the cedar thicket. Apparently I was cutting in the woods finger she wanted to use to get to the thicket.
I've got at least one left down there. :-)

Well, I'm done for the year, as I have no intentions of breaking the bow back out. That east wind this afternoon prevented me from hunting any spot that may have given a chance at a big buck. I had to walk way around a woodlot from the east side where I parked this afternoon to the west side so that I could at least hunt. Saw a squirrel or two and a chipmunk.
