I am sitting in Ohio tonight. Nothing here yet. But I am being patient. I have killed a deer the last 4 times I have sat here. I call this spot "the unfair advantage"...

Had a turkey at 50 yds. Lost it in thicket. Then a yote crossed behind me. No shot.

Just like clockwork.. I've got some wind switching going on. It was supposed to be a SW wind. From about 4:30 to 5:30 it was. After that, it was out of the ENE!!!! How the devil is a fella supposed to play that? Disgusting!

How the devil is a fella supposed to play that? Disgusting! Pretty well what happened to me too. I had an unseen deer blow at me during one of the easterly wind changes .

nothing moving in my woods this evening To many warmer than normal days. Deer are moving and feeding more at night. All the Deer I've seen, in my woods/field, were either spotted very early morning or late evening at sunset. Unless the weather patterns turn more fall like, with colder weather; Deer Hunting will be tough. Best chance is hunting deep in your woods, in the early morning hours or late afternoon before sunset.

Anyone ever tried walking QUIETLY thru standing dry beans? Not easy! Took over an hour to get 150 yards but I still made it with time to spare. Pretty morning for sure. Discovered 2 scrapes and several new rubs underneath this stand.

All work and no hunt, makes James a horrible boss. Been extremely busy, but decided to take the day off and get in the woods. Crops came out this week and the winds are perfect for one of my high traffic area, between bedding and water. Hoping to at least stick a doe this morning. A tad bit warm, but the view is spectacular. Good luck to all that are out and safety first!

Had a doe. Come by 40 yds out. 10 min later a spike with his nose to the ground is right on her trail. Sigh, teenagers!
