I was in a tree, but not a stand. I logged up, and got about 3 cord of wood drug up out of a small ravine after work tonight. Now I just have to get it cut up and hauled to the house.

Got in stand at 3:30 nice night, trees have lost a lot of leaves with the wind. Only saw one buck. He was walking my way down a tile cut in the woods turned off away from me to go thru woods at 50 yards used a grunt and no reaction so used a doe bleat. He looked but just moseyed on his way. the sight of a buck made the hunt.he would have gone on my wall. I know some would not have given him a second look but for me he was just fine

Buck activity has definitely picked up last few days. Saw 8 different Sat and 7 different Sunday. Getting ready to hit the woods this morning. Front moving through Tuesday so I look for WED,THUR,FRI to be really good as cooler temp's are on way. Could be the trigger to get the older bucks moving?? Good luck all.

Getting very frustrated to say the least. I have been out 5 or 6 times now and have yet to see a deer. Got some decent buck on trail camera so I know they are there. Just waiting for some cooler weather and the rut to trigger some day time movement. I hunt in Wells County which is one of the worst in Indiana so that doesn't help either. By no means am I giving up yet just waiting anxiously!!

Watched 3 mature bucks and two young bucks harass a doe all morning. Two of the big bucks locked up for just a couple of seconds. I would have put a tag on any of the 3 mature bucks. I had one in the cross hairs but there was some brush in the way and I didn't feel comfortable with the shot so I passed. Hope to catch one of them heading to the pond to get a drink this evening.

Hit some public land yesterday afternoon. I kind of messed up in setting up my tree stand. Walked up to the top of this ridge and looked around for a nice tree. I found one I thought would be a good choice but after looking to the bottom of the ridge and seeing a creek, I decided to set up down there. At about 530pm I had a nice doe come in right under the tree I originally was going to set up in at the top of the ridge. It was about 50 yards away and she never came closer. I was kicking myself for making that last minute decision to not set up in that tree. I would have had her if I did so

Little slower this morning but did see a spike and a 2.5 yr old 9 pt (100") crusing, plus a few young does. Warmer types and wind should slow it down some but still think from WED on, after this front moves through should get everything going full . Temps are forcasted to drop into low 30's for several days.

Our local forecast has low's in the's 30 (Thur, fri sat). May just be what is needed to flip the switch and get the bigger buck's up and moving during daylight.

Well Swilk, at least you'll have friends in "high places"...even if you can't be.

Probably won't be out until Saturday. Taking my cousin to Big Oaks on the youth hunt and hoping he gets a crack at his first deer. They should be up and at them. Then after that I'm living in the woods.
